VIDEO: Zombie Apocalypse Comes to Life at Atlanta School Thanks to Renowned Special FX Makeup Artist

Nowadays, most zombies hail from Atlanta. You have “The Walking Dead,” the AMC hit which is filmed there and proud of it. You have the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (who knows what THEY’RE up to). And you have the renowned makeup effects experts from Silver Scream FX Lab. This is showbiz central for any walker wanting to get noticed, and get his or her fair share of brains.
So it’s no surprise that an Atlanta public school wanting to raise funds for their arts department would recruit monster makeup genius Shane Morton. Morton brought his incredible expertise, his vast supply of props and effects all-things-terrifying and his zest for creating memorable moments out of chaos to help the students of Maynard Jackson High School in East Atlanta perform an epic zombie apocalypse for paying victims on October 23  and 24.
All proceeds go the school’s PTSA for yet-more-elaborate theater productions. And with nearly 1,000 attendees, paying $10 each to get chased by seriously made-up high schoolers with dead stares, stiff movements and a taste for human flesh, they estimate a $10,000 haul from an unforgettable night.
Watch the video for how it all went down.
